Returning home after an irregular migration journey can be a difficult and emotional experience. Many returnees face feelings of loss, shame, trauma, or hopelessness as they try to rebuild their lives. Recognizing this challenge, iSafe Global Consulting Hub, through its Connect-Me Initiative, in partnership with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), is supporting returned migrants with Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programs.

This initiative focuses on helping returnees heal, reintegrate, and regain confidence through empathy, counseling, and empowerment.

The program provides:

•  Individual and Group Counseling: Safe spaces for returnees to share experiences, process trauma, and find emotional healing with the help of trained professionals.
  
  
• Peer Support Groups: Opportunities to connect with others who have faced similar experiences, promoting mutual encouragement and social reintegration.
  
  
• Life Skills and Stress Management Training: Practical sessions to strengthen resilience, self-awareness, and coping mechanisms for a fresh start.
  
  
• Referral and Reintegration Assistance: Linking returnees to verified livelihood programs, entrepreneurship training, and psychosocial care networks through the Connect-Me App.
  
  

Through this collaboration with GIZ, iSafe Global is ensuring that no returnee is left behind emotionally or socially. The goal is not only to treat trauma but also to restore hope, rebuild dignity, and strengthen resilience.

The Connect-Me App serves as an extended platform for this support, allowing returnees to easily access:

• Community support groups, and
  
  
• Opportunities for skills development and livelihood support.
