Uplift Project for Crime Prevention Partners (CPP) Training in Three (3) States (Lagos, Edo and Bayelsa) in February (27th & 28th), March (12th & 13th) and March (22nd) 2024.
This training was carried out to equip the CPPs with essential skills to carry out local stakeholder
mapping for potential private sector employment opportunities, to sustain and support the CPP
structure, identify Brighter Future’s aim and positive offers to employers to improve the image of the
community etc. The training participants included staff members of implementing partners, local
government representatives and CPP members.
World Menstrual Hygiene Day and Martial Arts Open School Assessment May 28th, 2024
The Menstrual Hygiene Day event held at Bola Ige Millennium Secondary School, Tolu Complex,
Ajegunle, Lagos aimed to educate and empower girls on menstrual hygiene practices, breaking
taboos, and promoting a period-friendly world as well as assessing the impact of a 2-month martial
arts training which the girls received from June to August 2023 in partnership with UNESCO-ICM.
The event took place in the school hall and featured engaging decorations, informative posters, a
practical session on how to create reusable pads, a Q&A session and interactive sessions on martial
arts and menstrual hygiene.
International Women’s Day in collaboration with Apex Solution Foundation and ProtectHer
The theme for the 2024 International Women’s Day celebration was “INSPIRE INCLUSION” and
to mark that special day, Isafe collaborated with Apex Solution Foundation and leveraged our
ProtectHer (a safety initiative for women and girls) platform for the program to train twenty five
(25) women on basic self-defense skills. This was done in an ongoing Business Development and
Empowerment Program by Apex and Mezovext at our office at Old Yaba Road, Adekunle, Lagos
on the 8th of March, 2024.
World Day Against Trafficking in Persons
Isafe was in Benin City on the 30th of July to walk with NAPTIP and other organizations to raise awareness on human trafficking. At Isafe, we aim to stop all forms of human trafficking especially in regards to women and children through our advocacy in empowering young girls and women.
Martial Arts Open School Project
As a community-based initiative, iSafe continuous to inspire safer communities for vulnerable people, particularly women, girls and youths through the various programs and activities that we offer, including martial arts education. In 2023, iSafe, an affiliate of Girls Inspired
Development Network in partnership with UNESCO ICM trained 105 girls from selected junior and senior secondary schools in Ajegunle, Lagos, Nigeria on martial arts in the Martial Arts Open School in Nigeria.
After completing the Martial Arts Open School project from June to August 2023 and as part of our
sustainability plan, iSafe has impacted over 100 young women and girls in martial arts education
International day of the girlchild October 10th & 11th 2024
On September 19, iSafe received approval from Education District III to carry-out a two-day
Mentorship and Safety Program for 100 girls from Girls’ Senior Academy, Lagos Island to
commemorate International Day of the Girl Child on October 2024. The program was implemented
under the ProtectHer initiative in collaboration with its partners; The Bravery Lab, Women Build
Wealth and Apex Group Solutions Foundation. The selected dates for the program, October 10 and
11, 2024were effectively utilized to engage the students.
